Hi. I am a 1st grade public school teacher. Are there others here who feel completely overwhelmed by the job?

People who undermine at work to make themselves feel better...why can’t people just be nice work? Do their job & go home

Sometimes I feel this cliquey vibe from some of my co workers and it makes me feel alone. Also it feels like people are making fun of me behind my back

It’s been really difficult to balance my mental health and work. My home situation is a toxic environment but I’m stuck there for now. I need to save up but it’s just so difficult to manage and try my best to balance everything out. Especially when I go home and everything is so messed up. Its just so difficult and makes working much more stressful then it should be :/

It’s my birthday today, and I’m spending it at work with coworkers who don’t care about me.

My boss is abusive and negative. She uses fear to "motivate". I dread seeing her most days.

If you live in the US it might be nice to extend a helping hand (in whatever form you can manage) to a government worker you know who is doing it tough right now.

Took a personal day today because I'm feeling overwhelmed with dread and anxiety and now I'm worrying about the trouble I'll (mostlikely won't) be in for missing a day.

MrsDteaches—it wouldn’t let me reply to your post, but I am a first-year teacher of 2nd grade and I cry every morning because of my anxiety about all the the things you listed in your comment. It’s a struggle getting through each day.

Being a manager at a restaurant that is very popular and the only one in your city, is very stressful. They demanded so much, but give so little. We make big money, and they barely wont to give out raises.

I am a journalist, i’ve been hired three months ago to start a newspaper. I changed my Life for this job, i moved 4hours away from the place I consider my home, where my gf is. I am the only journalist, and it’s too much work. I know how it is to work more than 50 hours a week but I feel like i am so bad at my job, like all the pressure is on me and i am doing everything. I have anxiety and it’s really makes me feel Down.

On Friday my boss said "let's talk about your work schedule on Monday" I disclosed with transparency my health conditions when hired and regularly. It is a trigger for me this phrase because it usually means bad news. I am supposed to work 30 hrs when the place I work us fully open. Right now I am at 20. We will still be doing a gradual hour increase. I hope this is a positive conversation today, I really do.

I’m a manager at a restaurant and it’s so stressful. My boss is a perfectionist and everything I do is never good enough. I’m constantly getting told I’m doing my job wrong and I need to improve. I truly try my hardest to make my shifts go perfect but it’all never be perfect. I have to force myself to even get ready to go to work. I’m looking for another job but it’s not easy and I have to stick with this one until I find another.

Thankful for my job because It pays the bills. Ya it’s not the greatest job but I enjoy it most times. And waking up at 4am 5 days a week for 10hr shifts a day is not ideal but I power through it. It pays the bills and allows me to have more financial freedom than some people so I’m more than grateful for that.

All that I can say about work is that you're just a cog in the system. Along with your boss, your coworker, the whole establishment. Time will always pass and we all die some day. Not saying you shouldn't care but you make of it what you put into it. Fighting will always be a negative thing. Try giving in and letting things just be what they are. If that doesn't satisfy anyone then hey maybe it's time to try something new. Which is very exciting 🙃

I really do enjoy my job a lot, however, it really does stress me out and I think I try to downplay the level of impact the stress is having on me. Like I sit there and I’m like well what else would I do for work?! Like what field would I switch to?! This is what I went to school for! And then I get more anxious worrying about that

I like what I do, but I don’t feel wanted there. It’s probably just me overthinking like I always do, but I feel like I’m just gossiped about and no one cares to ask how I’m feeling. I’m never talked to about anything really besides just work stuff, but everyone else is just so close and hangs out and I feel left out. I just want to do something new in my life.. something I feel appreciated for and somewhere I am actually wanted.

Coworkers bullying me, blaming me for things I was not involved in. My boss is always on edge and angry and I feel like I'm constantly walking on eggshells and in fear for my job. I had a horrible anxiety attack at work today and went home. I am so scared to go back to work after these things happen. I dont want everyone to hate me or think that I am faking to leave work ( which they have accused me of) I cant take it anymore. This workplace and job is destroying me.
