I don’t know why it so long to get in the habit of just doing things I LIKE. Favorite foods, warm blankets, soft music, and long showers are a few of the things I enjoy, but for a long time I think I was just subconsciously telling myself to “get over it”, “tough people push through”. I’m so glad I’m past that because I had no idea how much of the good side of life I was missing out on.

Today I’m taking a day off. Sort of. Just staying focused on myself and what I need to do. Really helps when you’ve been caught up in things. Nice to space away for a bit.

I lay on the bed for 20 mins and focus in my breathing. Allowing thoughts but not paying attention to them. It doesn't always work but it gives me a little space to take things less seriously.

I was sitting on my couch today, and my son ran up to me, curled up in my lap, and promptly fell asleep. Being able to make him feel safe like that made my day.

usually later in the day, i try to spend some alone time with my mom. wether it is watching a movie or just talking, it relieves some stress and tension. when i’m at my dad’s house, i cannot relax at ALL!

When im stressed, I like to create a relaxing environment, like lighting some candles, playing soft music in the background, and grabbing a soft blanket or pillow, weather Im finishing homework or just reading or drawing. Its also important for me to turn off or put away any electronics containing social media or any other stressful things. 🌿♡

i absolutely don't know what will help me calm down when i have intrusive thoughts or an anxiety attack. i tried listening to music, drawing, watching funny videos etc. talking with people won't work because my anxiety and depression always interfere contradict each other. i'm afraid of the next breakdown.
