Pacifica
Our Mission

OUR MISSION

We know first-hand how difficult and personal anxiety can be. We’ve been there ourselves. At best, it’s annoying and unpleasant. At worst, it’s debilitating and isolating. We also understand how challenging it can be to get proper care. It’s expensive, time consuming, stigmatized and for many, just not available.

That’s where Pacifica comes in. Founded in 2014, we’re a devoted team in San Francisco building a self-help app for managing stress, anxiety and depression. Based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with relaxation and wellness techniques, we believe in daily tools aimed at breaking the cycle of negative thoughts and emotions stress, anxiety and depression can cause. We’re not about quick-fixes or false promises. We are about real progress, a day at a time.

Simply put, it’s our mission to help people by giving them the most effective and empowering tools available. We hope you’ll join us; we’re just getting started.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Pacifica?

Pacifica is an app for stress, anxiety, and depression based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and wellness. Comprised of quick activities alongside a supportive community, Pacifica is designed as a daily tool to help people address stress, anxiety, and depression at a gradual pace.

Why did you start Pacifica?

While there will always be a place for traditional therapy, barriers such as stigma, cost, and logistical considerations often get in the way of individuals getting the treatment they need. Dale and Chris started Pacifica to help people with stress & anxiety. Chris, in particular, has wrestled with anxiety most of his life. He wanted to bring the tools that he used to manage his life to a broader audience.

Together, Chris and Dale understand how personal these conditions are. Ultimately, it is their goal to help reduce the stigmas around mental health and provide care to more people.

What can Pacifica be used for?

Pacifica is designed to be a self-help app for managing stress, anxiety and depression. It is not a substitute for professional help.
